Thank you to everyone who gave me portfolios, and congratulations on making it this far.  I am now busy grading these portfolios.  Grading will be completed by next Tuesday, but many portfolios are already done.  You will be able to access your final grade online sometime next week, but if you would like you grade before then, feel free to email me to request that information; I will reply once I have finished grading your portfolio.  Enjoy your break, and my best to you in all you do.

Here are some more ways for you to earn make up hours for class.  Read or view any of the following and write a one-paragraph response to it.  You can respond to any or all of these, and each response will count as one hour of additional attendance.  Email your response(s) to me by 8:00 pm today. I will reply to confirm receipt of your work later today.

One of the requirements to be eligible to submit a portfolio and pass the class is to earn at least 65 hours of attendance and participation. If you need to make up hours, please have this done by the end of class on Monday, December 7.

For this week’s participation credit, read this article on 10 Technology Must-Haves for College. Then write a response to the article. What do you think of this list? Is there anything here tat you think is not necessary? What have the authors left off this list that you think is vital to your success in college? Post your response here as a comment by 5pm Friday, December 4, to earn this week’s one-hour participation credit.

Here’s another option for earning additional attendance hours.  Read this post at the Professors’ Guide blog on 11 Skills You’ll Need for a Career.  Then write a one-paragraph response and post it here as a comment.  What do you think of this list?  Is anything missing?  Is there anything here that you think is not especially important for your future career?  This will earn you two extra hours of attendance.

Here is another option to make up some attendance hours.  Read this article on How to Improve Your Writing Skills and write your own set of instructions geared to help an incoming English 0950 student learn to be a better writer.  Post your instructions here as a comment to earn two additional hours of attendance credit.

As explained previously, one of the requirements to pass the class is to earn a total score of 21 or higher on the five assignments combined.  You must have this accomplished by the end of class next Wednesday, December 2.  Failure to do so will result in a failing grade for the course.

To earn this week’s participation credit, simply submit your Essay on time: either in class today or via email to rdturner@cnm.edu by 8:00 pm today.  Graded Essays will be returned in class next Monday.

Here are some notes on Writing Your Portfolio.  We will go over these tomorrow as we begin the Portfolio assignment.  Remember to bring hard copies of each of your assignments to class to begin working on the Portfolio.
